Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-24

AudJet is an anonymous service. We don't want to know who you are, and we don't. This document explains exactly what data we collect and what we don't.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts, no email addresses.
  • No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no anything).
  • No tracking pixels, no fingerprinting.
  • No third-party advertising scripts.
  • No cookies for marketing or tracking.
  • No persistent identifiers tied to you.

What we do collect

To enforce the rate limit (3 requests per 10 minutes per IP) and diagnose service health, we store a minimal request log:

  • Hashed IP address. Your IP is hashed with a daily-rotating salt using HMAC-SHA-256. Yesterday's hash cannot be derived from today's — historical logs cannot be tied back to a current user.
  • Timestamp. When the request happened.
  • Endpoint. /api/info or /api/stream.
  • Audio format. If applicable (opus, aac, mp3).
  • Outcome. Success, rate-limited, or failed.

We do not log the YouTube URL or video ID — those may represent private or unlisted videos. We do log video duration for aggregate statistics about typical usage.

How long we keep it

Request logs auto-delete after 24 hours via a scheduled cleanup job. We don't maintain any longer-term archive.

Where data lives

Anonymous request logs are stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database. The audio files you download never touch our disks — they stream from YouTube through our backend into your browser as the response to your request. The streaming proxy holds bytes only in memory in transit.

Cookies

AudJet uses no marketing or tracking cookies. The site is purely functional and works without any persistent browser state.

Third-party services

We use Cloudflare as a CDN and DNS provider, Vercel to host the frontend, and Railway to host the backend. Each of these may log connection metadata (IP addresses, request timing) for their own security and abuse-prevention purposes per their respective privacy policies. We have no contractual relationship with you covering their data handling — review their policies if relevant.

Children

AudJet is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone — children included.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or how long we keep it, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. Substantive changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days.

Contact

AudJet doesn't maintain an email address. If you have a privacy concern, the best action is to stop using the service — there's nothing for us to delete because we don't retain anything personally identifying.
